Game 4 ended in a heartbreaking, stomach turning fashion. The Rangers took a commanding lead in the series 3-1 and couls possibly end the Penguins season tonight.
Rookie Kevin Hayes scored the game winning goal with Fleury spralled all over the net doing snow angels, while his defense just watched rather than help their team MVP. The Penguins got the opening goal, but from that point on that was it. They had good chances, but just couldn't get it behind King Henry.
The Penguins showed intensity and despiration in the first period and partially in the third and if they want to win tonight, they will NEED to get that fire going.
Evgeni Malkin stated he is only at "85-90%" and has been playing injured the whole series. You can tell that their is something wrong with the former Conn Smythe winner when you break down his gameplay. Malkin only has 5 shots im the whole series from my understanding, and has not been able to play like the freak of nature we are usee to seeing.
Crosby, has had a hard time staying consistant in the playoffs, but had a tremendous amount of chances in game four, ringing a shot off the post and making super-human passes.
Marc-Andre Fleury is the only reason why the Penguins have lost games within a goal. He has been amazing, even though he only has one win in the playoffs this year, his track record makes up for it. Fleury can't do it all and with a lack luster defense, he is all on his own.
Some hope though, is returning to the Pens blue-line, Derrick Pouliot. Pouliot practiced today and could possibly be in the line-up tonight against the Rangers. It could be too late though for the Pens.
Mike Johnston and Jim Rutherford could possibly not be in the Pens organization in thr near future. There is a reason why the Hurricanes haven't done so well, and thats Rutherford. He did not do a great job assemblying the right tools needed to win a Stanley Cup and with Pittsburgh on the verge of being eliminated, and no first round pick, and a deep draft, there is no room to rebuild.
The Rangers could possibly prove my prediction correct and take the series tonight. Lets hope my prediction is wrong and the Penguins take game five tonight.
